Title: Spiritual Warfare: Importance of Meditation

Psalms 119:97-98 - Be wiser than your enemy. Meditation should be all day, not just for a few minutes. Don't just memorize the scriptures, but meditate on them. It is God's intention that we be wiser than our enemy. The more you meditate on the word of God, the wiser you become.

We have a misconception that the devil knows everything. The devil just knows what you reveal to him.

1 Corinthians 2:7-8 - If you are going to be productive as a believer, you must know the devil does not know everything.

Ephesians 2:1-2 - Herod was among the children of disobedience and the devil worked through him. Don't give the devil much credit. The devil didn't know Christ was coming into the world until the wise men told Herod. If he knew he would have caused birthing problems for Mary. (Matthew 2:1-7) Herod was working under the influence of the enemy. The devil only works on deceptions and lies. The devil did not recognize the baby Jesus when they were passing into Egypt. The devil thought Jesus had died with the other babies during the reign of Herod. Don't give the devil credit that he does not deserve.

Matthew 3:13-17 - It wasn't until after the baptism of Jesus that the devil knew the Christ was still in the world. It wasn't until after the baptism that the devil tried to tempt Jesus into sin. The devil's knowledge is limited. If you do not leak your information, the enemy cannot work against you.

Hebrews 2:14-15 - If the devil knew what was coming, he would have tried to stop our victory. He would have acted sooner to try to corrupt or destroy Christ. But this was not God's plan and the devil's knowledge is limited. Your mind and your spirit must be dominated with what God has done for us. We have victory through Christ. We have victory over sickness. We have victory over our troubles. We have victory in all aspects of our lives.

Ephesians 4:27 - If the devil had the power, he would take control. For the devil to take control, you must give him permission. Don't give him any authority in your life.

James 4:7 - If you want to keep the devil running, submit yourself to God. Tell the devil you reject him. Tell the devil you reject his lies and deceptions. Keep the devil running. Resist the devil and he will flee.

1 Peter 5:8 - You have a responsibility to only entertain those thoughts that are worthy of God. If you entertain negative or sinful thoughts, you are inviting the devil into your life. When you magnify your troubles, you are allowing the devil into your life. Tell the devil to shut up! Through God all things are possible. Meditate on the Word of God, not on negative things. Be careful. Don't live carelessly because you will expose yourself. Be vigilant.

Philippians 4:8 As a believer you must think. You are a product of your thoughts. If your heart is healthy, your life will be healthy.

To test if something is true, look to the written Word. Don't define truth based on the worldly perspective. If God can do it, think on it. Meditate on the Word. If you are thinking on negative things, you are entertaining the devil. Think on those things that are true and pure. The devil will try to take your mind off the Word of God. Don't let him. Let the devil know he has no place in your mind, nor in your heart. Through God you have the authority to boldly say these things.

1 Peter 5:8 - We must be vigilant. We must be wise. We must be wiser than our enemy.

Ephesians 5:15 - Be wise. Don't walk as a fool. Be wiser than your enemy. If you do this, the devil won't be able to set a trap for you.

Ephesians 5:16 - If you walk wisely, you are making good use of your time. You cannot be a part time Christian and fight off a full time enemy.

1 Peter 5:9 - Continually resist the devil. Do not entertain negative things in your life. A believer has faith when they accept salvation. Faith is Christ. A believer does not have a faith problem. A believer has a knowledge problem. You must be knowledgeable in the word if you want to be victorious.

Romans 10:17 - Faith comes from the hearing of the Word of God. Faith of Salvation comes through the preaching of the gospel. Jesus is the faith. You can grow in faith by looking into the Word of God. The gospel releases faith.

Philemon 1:6 - Resist the devil by acknowledging the good things that are in you through Christ. Your faith will not work on an empty mind.

Acts 14:7-10 - The gospel reveals what Christ has done. By hearing the Word of God, the gospel, your faith is realized. Don't meditate on your troubles. Thinking on the fact that you can't pay your bills will make it so. All things are possible through God. Meditate on the Word. The gospel IS the power of God. The more you meditate on the Word, the more this power is released. There is power in the gospel. If you are looking for strength, go back to the gospel. Meditate on the gospel!

2 Timothy 1:9-10 - Our salvation is not according to our works. Our salvation comes by receiving Christ. Immortality to light is brought through the gospel. The gospel is the power of God! Are you looking for the power of God? IT IS the gospel! Death no longer has any power over us. We have authority to tell the devil NO! Our thoughts must be on what Christ has done. He took away death and gave us life. "In the name of Jesus, I have life! In the name of Jesus I have victory!" Come on! Say it with us. A believer functions from the realm of God. Speak to your mountains. Don't let your mountains defeat you. Speak to those issues.

1 Corinthians 2:2 - Make up your mind to know those things that are from Christ. Receive Christ in your heart.

Don't be fooled by the misconceptions of the world. Don't listen to the junk/nonsense of the world.

Meditate on that which is true and pure!
